Bio
Anthea Thompson is a South African actress best known for her roles in the tlevision series Mazinyo Dot Q, Madam and Eve and Laugh Out Loud, among others.
She is also known for her work in theatre, predominantly in Cape Town, including such productions as Shirley Valentine at the Kalk Bay Theatre and Much Ado About Nothing at Maynardville.
Other theatre roles include Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Fleur du Cap Award, Best Supporting Actress, 1995), Martha in Elizabeth (Fleur du Cap Award, Best Supporting Actress, 1996), Cabaret (Fleur du Cap Award, Best Contribution to a Musical or Revue, 1995), Into the Woods (1997) and The Shakespeare Revue (1997) - winning a Fleur du Cap Award for Best Contribution to a Musical for both productions.
She also played the role of Izzy Vermaak in the kykNET sitcom Deeltitel Dames (2010) and made a guest appearance in the science fiction television series Charlie Jade, in 2005.
In 2012 she was a main cast member of the Mzansi Magic sitcom S.I.E.S., playing Prudence Plaaitjies (pronounced Pla'zhay) - Nomsa's (Busi Lurayi) ever-astute, ever-annoyingly efficient assistant.
