Bio
Gideon Emery is an English-born actor and voice actor. He studied at St John's College and, briefly, at Reading Blue Coat School before moving to South Africa with his parents.
After completing Drama School at the University of the Witwatersrand, he acted in South Africa, working on stage, screen and radio.
His South African stage appearances include roles in the Paul Slabolepsky's comedy Heel Against, the acapella musical Not The Midnight Mass and the play Certified Male.
He received the National Vita Award for Comedy for his role in the play Heel Against the Head, and was the first recipient of a Gold Loerie Award for voice-over at South Africa's Loerie Advertising Awards.
In 2003 he moved to Los Angeles, US, where he currently resides.
Screen appearances include the TV movie Red Water, A Case of Murder, the award winning Cape of Good Hope and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
He provided the voice of Bane in The Matrix: Path of Neo video game (gameplay segments only) and has also done voiceovers for EverQuest II and GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, amongst others.
Currently, Emery is slated to provide the voice for Balthier in the English-language version of the RPG video game Final Fantasy XII.
He also appears in the upcoming features Greetings From the Shore and Touchstone Pictures' adventure thriller Gustave.
Gideon is also a singer, perhaps best known for his work in Graham Weir's Not The Midnight Mass, an a-capella stage show that toured South Africa extensively.
