Joe Morton is an American actor best known for his starring role as jack-of-all-trades scientist Henry Deacon on the sci-fi television series Eureka, from 2006-2012.
Morton was born in New York, New York to Evelyn, a secretary, and Joseph T. Morton, Sr., a U.S. army intelligence officer. Because of his father's profession, he spent parts of his childhood in West Germany and Okinawa.
He has starred on the television series Equal Justice (1990–91), Under One Roof (1995) and E-Ring (2005). He also made several appearances as a defence attorney on Law & Order.
Morton has also had roles on the soapies Search for Tomorrow (Dr. James Foster, 1973-74), Another World (Dr. Abel Marsh and Leo Mars, 1983-84), and All My Children (Dr. Zeke McMillan, 2002).
He has made many notable TV guest appearances, including his appearances as Dr. Hamilton in the first and second seasons of Smallville. Other television shows he has appeared on include Sanford and Son, M*A*S*H, Who's The Boss?, Homicide: Life on the Street, The X Files, The Practice, Touched by an Angel, House, JAG, and CSI: NY.
Morton has appeared in over 70 movies including Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991), Forever Young (1992), Speed (1994), Executive Decision (1996), Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997), Blues Brothers 2000 (1998), Apt Pupil (1998), The Astronaut's Wife (1999), What Lies Beneath (2000), Ali (2001) and Paycheck (2003).
In October 1984, he married Nora Chavooshian. He has three children: daughters Hopi and Seta, and son Ara. He also has a grandson, Moses.
