Chiwetel Ejiofor (pronounced chew-eh-tell edge-eh-for) is an English theatre and film actor born of Nigerian parents.
He was seen in the movie Kinky Boots, which earned him a Best Actor nomination from the British Independent Film Awards, as well as the Spike Lee film Inside Man.
His other film work includes Four Brothers, Slow Burn, Melinda & Melinda, Serenity, Red Dust, She Hates Me, Love Actually, Dirty Pretty Things (for which he received various British film award nominations), Amistad and Tsunami, The Aftermath.
His numerous theatrical performances include the Royal National Theatre productions of Romeo and Juliet, Blue/Orange and Sparkle Shark.
Ejiofor also received a nomination for the 2006 BAFTA Orange Rising Star award, which recognises exceptional talent and outstanding performances in young actors.
