Bio
Hugh Masebenza is a South African actor best known for his role as one half of gold-card-glam couple Paris and Zuko Zondi in the e.tv soapie Scandal!.
He is also known for his role as Skomboze in the critically-acclaimed 2003 film James' Journey to Jerusalem.
Masebenza received drama training at the Pretoria Technikon. He has extensive experience in theatre, television and film, a highlight being the award-winning film God is African, directed by Akin Omotso.
He was also a featured actor in the 2004 feature film Forgiveness. Other films he has appeared in include Cape of Good Hope, Zulu Love Letter, Poena is Koening, Vaatjie Sien sy Gat and Finding Lenny.
Hugh was also one half of the swinging power couple of Paris and Zuko Zondi (with Lala Tuku), in the e.tv soapie Scandal!. The couple sued the fictitious magazine in the show after intrusive shots of them were used on the cover of the first issue.
He played the role of Sipho in the 2007 SABC1 mini-series Society and in 2012 had a guest starring role in the third episode of the SABC1 science fiction series Room 9.
When Hugh is not acting he is working on his music. He plays the guitar and writes his own songs.
