C.C. Rudder is a South African actress best known for supporting roles as Kate on the SABC3 dramedy One Way and as Melissa on the SABC1 drama series Soul City; and for her leading title role in the M-Net/GO drama series Angel's Song.
C.C. (full name Chanelle Candice Rudder) was born in Westville in 1987 and grew up in Newcastle, Umdloti, Umhlanga, Salt Rock, Hillcrest, Pietermariztburg and Pinetown.
She moved to Johannesburg alone at 15 yrs old and has been there ever since. Her mother lives in Durban.
She was schooled at Crawford College in Durban and later at the National School of Arts in Johannesburg.
Rudder first came to the South African public's attention in a television commercial for Fanta in 2004, directed by Laurence van Rensburg.
Her first television role was the recurring character of Kate in five episodes of the first season of SABC3's dramedy One Way in 2006. She guest starred in episodes 3, 7, 9, 10 and 11.
Later in 2006 she landed the lead role of Angel Phillips in the M-Net production Angel's Song, which aired on DStv's GO channel from 2 November.
She also recorded vocals for all 13 tracks of a planned CD release of the show's soundtrack, in 2007.
CC played the role of Nicky in the Brendan Jack film Footskating 101, which premiered in South Africa on 14 September, 2007.
Also in 2007, she played the role of Melissa in an episode of the SABC1 drama series Soul City and played the guest role of Roxanne Bannon, a friend of Tshidi's, in the e.tv soapie Rhythm City (from 10 October).
