Bio
Will Bigham is an American reality TV contestant on the filmmaking reality show On The Lot.
Will's On The Lot Q&A:
Location: Glendale, CA
Hometown: Canyon, TX
Occupation: Film Editor
Age: 31
Why am I here?
Raising kids in LA isn't cheap. My wife and I are barely scraping by as filmmakers, and that's not the life I want for my children. At the beginning of 2007, we realized that this was going to be our "make it or break it" year.
On the Lot is giving me the opportunity to get my foot in the door and stick around a little longer, hopefully achieving my dreams and giving my children an opportunity to achieve theirs as well.
A quick tour of my life
I was born and raised in the small town of Canyon, Texas. I got my bachelors in Theatre Arts from Texas Tech University, where I met my wife Catherine. We worked as professional stage actors at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, for 5 years.
I earned my Master's degree in Film from Florida State University in 2004 and, since then, I've been working as a director, actor and editor in LA, while raising my two beautiful daughters.
Describe yourself in one sentence...
I'm a hard-working family man who loves to tell a good story.
Your theme song?
"Burnin' Love" by Elvis Presley
First movie you ever saw?
E.T.
Favourite line from a movie?
"Remember Danny, two wrongs don't make a right. But three rights make a left." – Caddyshack
What made you want to be a filmmaker?
Movies are such a part of my life. Every memory I have from my youth has something to do with movies. I can't tell you much about my first kiss, but I can tell you everything about the movie we saw that night.
When you make a film what do you want the audience to leave with?
I want to leave the audience with a great story. Something that everyone in the theater can relate to and hopefully remember for a long time.
When I'm behind the camera...
When I'm behind the camera, I'm totally in my element. No matter what is happening in front of that camera, good or bad, I'm having the time of my life.
What do you think it will be like working with other Directors?
Making movies is a collaborative art. No matter who you're working with, a set designer, a cinematographer, or another director, if the ship is running the way it should, everyone on set is there for one purpose, to tell the best story possible. So I'm extremely excited to work with these other talented minds.
Favourite joke about Directors/Actors?
How many directors does it take to screw in a light bulb? According to IATSE rules and regulations, if a director touches a light, he can be fined up to $1000.
Movie that best encapsulates who you are?
A cross between "Scarface" and "The Muppets Take Manhattan"
While On The Lot you have a week to make a film every week. What's the biggest challenge?
The amount of physical energy it takes to make a movie is astounding. To do this non-stop for weeks on end is going to be exhausting.
When you get the power, how will you use it?
I will do my best to achieve global domination and force the world to listen to me sing karaoke for hours.
What's more important talent or ego?
In my opinion, ego just gets in the way of creativity. Or at least mine does. I've got a huge ego...especially about how sexy I am.
