Mandla Mbau is a contestant on the second season of the reality show Survivor South Africa: Malaysia, in 2007.
He was initially a member of the Iban tribe, but was switched to the Bajau tribe in the Episode 4 shake-up of the tribes.
A marketing manager, Mandla was born in Soweto and currently resides in Glen Marais, Johannesburg. He studied Environmental Science and just before entering Survivor finished a four-year assignment in Lagos, Nigeria.
His hobbies and interests include regular exercise, mountain biking, camping, hiking, and travelling to different parts of the world.
Due to his job, he's also interested in global challenges like poverty, reduction, malnutrition, and how the private sector can contribute to socio-economic development.
In Nigeria he worked on a school feeding programme, with State and Federal Government entities, to establish a school nutrition programme that was geared at education improvement.
