Bio
Thulile Mngoma is a South African actress best known for playing the role of Busi in a series of Love Life television public service announcements, from 2006-2007.
She is also known for her role as Miss Tiger Boys in the first season of the SABC1 drama series Zone 14, in 2006.
Born and raised in Durban, Mngoma is the oldest of four siblings (two brothers and a sister).
She attended Clairwood High School and was a member of the school debating team. She organised various events in her matric year and was crowned the first black Miss Clairwood High School in 2000.
Upon completing her matric Mngoma enrolled with Damelin Education Group to study a National Diploma in Retail Travel and Tourism, having always dreamed of becoming a flight attendant.
She abandoned her dream of becoming a flight attendant when she was discovered at the Miss Durban 2004 pageant by a photographer, who sent her pictures to the Rapidol INECTO hair product company.
She was initially cast by the company as a model for their packaging, but they ended up using her for a television commercial for their products, which Mngoma claims was her big break into the industry.
She relocated to Gauteng where she was introduced to her agent Lisa Modisane of Legends casting agency. After a few castings she landed the part of Busi on the Love Life PSAs, which flighted from 2006-2007.
Shortly after she landed the role of a princess (Miss Tiger Boys) on Zone 14, the most-watched television drama series in South Africa.
Thereafter she landed a minor role on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango (the channel's most-watched show), and also featured on the SABC1 soapie Generations (South Africa's most-watched show overall), as a model.
She was also a PA for media house Red Cherry Productions. It is her ambition to open her own production house to help other women achieve their potential.
She has been involved with a few television productions as a coordinator, including a woman's documentary in 2011, some Jet adverts and even magazine features, including Real Magazine, Blaque and the new Hustle magazine.
She worked with Fungayi Kanyuchi and was a face of Inecto Rapidol. She currently works for a telecommunications company.
