Bio
Welile K. Tembe is a South African actress best known for her role as sharp-tounged, entrepreneurial sandwich lady Dora in the SABC3 television sitcom FONT, from 2007-2008.
She also played the lead roles in the M-Net short film Hopeville Mansions (2004), and in 2007 featured in the documentary Do Girls Want It?, which premiered at the Encounters Film Festival and was subsequently aired on SABC1.
Tembe holds a BA (Hons) degree in Political Science, from the University of Natal, Durban. She is currently studying for an MA in Public Policy.
She attended The Wykeham Collegiate girl's school.
She has been the recipient of several nominations in the Durban Theatre and Dance community. Her most notable role was the lead in Gcina Mhlophe's Have You Seen Zandile?.
In addition to performance Welile works in skills training, socio-cultural research, arts and culture consulting and events coordination.
