Darby Stanchfield is an American actress best known for her recurring role as April Green on the television drama series Jericho, from 2006-2007.
She currently stars as Abby Whelan in the political thriller television series Scandal (also known as The Fixer), since 2012.
She played the recurring role of Helen Bishop on Mad Men (2007-2008) and also recurred as Sgt. Gibbs (Mark Harmon's) first wife in NCIS, Amelia Joffe in General Hospital, recurred in Exes And Ohs.
Other guest roles include 24, Bones, Nip/Tuck, Without a Trace, Campus Ladies, Monk, Strong Medicine, Good Girls Don't, Angel, That 80'S Show, American Dreams, It's All Relative, The Inside and Diagnosis Murder.
In film, Darby was seen in theatres in Adrienne Shelley's critcially acclaimed Waitress opposite Nathan Fillion and Keri Russell. Darby also costarred with Josh Duhamel, in an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Darby could also be heard on NPR in a radio play version of Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues, with Josh Radnor and Justine Bateman, produced by LA Theatre Works.
The daughter of a commercial fisherman, she grew up in a remote fishing village, Dutch Harbor, Alaska (where The Deadliest Catch films.) She has a Master of Fine Arts from The American Conservatory Theatre.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
