Bio
Laura Calder is a French chef and television personality best known for hosting the cooking show French Food at Home, since 2006.
Calder was born and brought up in Eastern Canada. She studied liberal arts and linguistics in Montreal and Toronto, and later received a Masters degree from The London School of Economics in the UK.
Her career began in journalism and public relations, but soon shifted towards food. She studied cooking at The Dubrulle Culinary Institute in Vancouver, Canada and at L'Ecole de Cuisine LaVarenne in Burgundy, France.
She also undertook oenological studies in France and California. Since then, Laura has lectured and hosted culinary programmes in Europe and North America.
Her food writing has appeared in many publications including: Vogue Entertaining and Travel, Gourmet magazine, Gastronomica, Salon.com, the Times of London, the Los Angeles Times, the Wine Journal, and Flare magazine.
Laura is also the author of the cookbook French Food at Home (HarperCollins, 2003).
