Jemima Rooper (pronounced Roper) is an English actress best known for her leading television roles as George in The Famous Five (1996-1997) and as Cassie Hughes in the supernatural television series Hex, from 2004-2005.
Rooper was born in Hammersmith, London, England and is the daughter of TV journalist Alison Rooper. She attended Redcliffe Primary School in Chelsea, London then went to Godolphin and Latymer girls' school.
Rooper expressed a wish to be an actress at the age of eight and contacted an agent. Her first professional roles were in the 1993 film Higher Mortals and the 1994 film Willie's War.
In 1996 she appeared in all 26 episodes of Enid Blyton's Famous Five, in the role of George.
While working on The Famous Five she passed eight GCSEs with A+ and A grades. From there she went to sixth form college where she got three A-grade A levels.
Other television shows she has acted in include Urban Gothic, Midsomer Murders, As If, The Brief, Sugar Rush, Silent Witness, Sinchronicity and The Time of Your Life.
She played the lead role of Thelma Bates in the supernatural thriller series Hex, from 2004-2005.

Rooper is currently dating actor Alex Hassell.
