Maurice Carpede is a South African radio DJ and television presenter best known for hosting the SABC2 music television series Sweepslag, from 2008-2009.
He is also a DJ on Jacaranda 94.2, South Africa's largest independent radio station broadcasting in English and Afrikaans, with a footprint that covers Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the North West Province of South Africa and boasts an audience in excess of 2.5 million.
Carpede hosts the show "Workzone", on weekdays from 09h00 to 13h00.
In 2007 he played the role of David Verweij in the Dutch mini-series Stellenbosch and in 2008 he played the role of Soldaat in the M-Net mini-series Feast of the Univited.
He began hosting Sweepslag, an Afrikaans-language live music show which showcases up-and-coming Afrikaans musicians alongside more established acts, on Friday 2 May, 2008.
Carpede is multilingual, speaking fluent Afrikaans, English and South Sotho.
