Bio
Shaeleen Tobin is a South African actress, presenter, singer and voice artist best known for her starring role as domestic worker Patience Hlatshwayo on the M-Net sitcom The Coconuts, from 2008-2009.
Tobin graduated with a National Diploma in Drama from the Pretoria Technikon in 1993. She went on to perform in numerous theatre productions and presented Kideo's Animals and Us on Television, where she met her first love Mr. Chinwag.
She then moved into musicals - performing in Marylin van Reenen's Nunsense – The Second Coming, also Leader of the Pack and Sixties Sunshine Underground for Janice Honeyman.
Then came Joburg Follies for Neil Lessick, where her talent and love of comedy reared its head. She has also been involved in ongoing industrial and corporate theatre projects, which have taken her all over the country.
Shaeleen is a prolific voice over artist in both TV and Radio. She also has a few fun TV commercials under her belt.
Having had some puppeteering fun as the crazy scientist Lizzie in The Fun Factory she created a few unforgettable character voices for the web based animation game Trash Can Kids.
Besides being a busy performer Shaeleen has been running her own popular Children's Theatre Company, Hooked on Books, for a number of years.
Shaeleen has a passion for comedy and was thrilled at the opportunity of being part of the Coconuts cast. After creating the role of Patience, the black maid in Coconuts, Shaeleen appeared in Liefling, Die Movie, Spud and Winnie.
Other television series she has acted in include Spot On, Galooby and the Gang, Mina Moo, Fundani Nathi and Kalahari Oasis.
