Stinson began his career performing for his classmates at school in Calgary, Alberta, often landing himself in detention. When he wasn't disrupting his class, most of his days were spent in his school's drama room, working on sketches and fooling around.
When he was cast in his first school play Stinson immediately realized how much he loved acting.
After moving to Vancouver, BC, Stinson continued honing his acting skills as a motion capture actor working for Mainframe Entertainment, one of the first companies to utilize the growing technology.
When Electronic Arts and Radical Entertainment got word of his talent, Stinson quickly became the "go to" guy for motion capture studios in Vancouver.
Stinson made the natural progression to film and television with landing his first audition for the Fox series Dark Angel, opposite Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly. He quickly followed this with a role in the romantic comedy A Guy Thing opposite Julia Stiles.
Over the next few years Stinson continued to build on his reputation as a versatile actor, appearing as the memorable overbearing store manager Ted Gallagher in the supernatural comedy Reaper for CW, and starring in the film Chaos Theory opposite Ryan Reynolds and blockbusters Fantastic Four and X-Files I Want To Believe.
