Bio
Melanie Paxson is an American actress best known for her role as Julie on the sitcom Notes from the Underbelly, from 2007-2008.
Paxson was born and raised just outside of Champaign, Illinois, and left her hometown after high school to pursue a degree in Theatre Performance at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
After appearing in many stage productions in school and training at the Second City Training Centre, Paxson was fortunate enough to perform at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles soon afterward, she appeared in numerous American commercials, most notably in Glad's "Voice of Reason" campaign.
One of her first big television roles was as Joyce DeWitt in the controversial TV movie, Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three's Company.
Following guest appearances on several primetime television shows, she landed a starring role in the NBC sitcom Happy Family, before being cast as Julie in Notes from the Underbelly.
Paxson currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband of three years, Andy, their two dogs, Sophie and Owen, and their cat, Jesse.
In her spare time she loves to travel, listen to music and spend time with her friends and family.
