Bio
Sunkrish Bala is an Indian-born American actor best known for his role as Eric on the sitcom Notes from the Underbelly, from 2007-2008.
Sunkrish began acting as a child in community productions in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
While studying at the Bellarmine College Preparatory High School, he helped found A'shore Productions, an Indian-American theatre company - the first of its kind on the West coast.
After graduation, he began studying theatre at UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television, where he was trained as an actor under Mel Shapiro's program and received instruction from the likes of Anthony Hopkins and Annette Bening.
He received his bachelor's degree in theatre from UCLA in June 2006, at the end of his four years.
Bala began his professional career in Los Angeles while still training at UCLA. His theatre credits include East West Players' world premiere of As Vishnu Dreams and Barriers, a post-9/11 drama set in New York.
His television credits include Grey's Anatomy, Will & Grace, My Name is Earl, CSI: NY and Vanished. He also has a lead role in American Blend, an independent feature starring Bollywood legend Anupam Kher.
In his spare time Bala writes, plays tennis and tries to travel as much as possible. Having grown up alternating between the United States, India and Singapore, he has quite literally lived around the world.
He is proud to call Los Angeles his permanent home.
