Profession
Contract worker, for City of Cape Town, building plans administration
Why do you want to sing Gospel?
Because it is my life. Whatever I do, singing to me is a prayer and it helps me a lot at times.
Who is your favourite Gospel local artist?
The late Vuyo Mokoena, Ben Dube
What will you do with the R100,000 if you win?
Develop my family because we have been through a lot, my uncle has been sick and it was difficult for me to be there for him up until he died. He was HIV positive, his state was bad every time I saw him, he called me and I went to be with him up until he died. It was a huge loss for us, he had no children but my brother and I were like his kids.
What will be different that you want to bring if you win the recording album?
It will be a natural album; it will not be an imitation but my original sound with an African style.
What don’t people know about you?
I have always wanted to minister through singing, I realised it in 1999 when I was involved in a Gospel group.
Who inspires you?
My father.
What has been your most difficult thing you had to overcome?
To bury my uncle...he was like a father to me and felt like losing someone who I had always relied on.
Who/what makes you happy?
My two boys and my wife.
What’s your favourite meal?
African salad, mealie meal with sour milk
If you had to send a message to Lindelani what would it be?
"Mr. Mkhize please give me the prize and I will ensure I am thankful about it."
What’s your message to your soon to be fans?
"Wait upon the Lord and at the appointed time he will lift you up."
