Bio
Steven Sabados is a Canadian interior decorator best known for hosting (with life partner Chris Hyndman) a number of design reality shows, including Designer Guys and Design Rivals.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Steven relocated to London, Ontario where he graduated with a diploma in Fine Art from Fanshawe College. From there he moved to Toronto and took a job as Visual Presentation Supervisor for Eaton's at the flagship Eaton Centre location.
He later became the Display Director for Roots Canada, where he was responsible for designing both window and in store displays for the 38 Roots retail stores. Steven then formed The Sabados Group Inc. with Christopher Hyndman.
The duo has since co-hosted HGTV’s hit show Designer Guys, which launched in 2000 and aired for 3 seasons. The series is seen in the USA and is broadcast in over 17 countries worldwide, including South Africa.
Their popularity has enabled them to appear before sell out crowds at National Home shows and countless private functions throughout Canada.
Designer Guys also caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey and was featured in 2002 on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
In 2003 their new design series Design Rivals was successfully launched. They also launched So Chic With Steven & Chris, a fashion and beauty makeover show.
With Chris Hyndman, Steven opened Decadence By Design, a retail store featuring custom made furnishings and exquisite decorative accessories for the home in St. John’s Newfoundland.
Steven has also appeared as a resident guest expert on City TV's CityLine, HGTV’s Canadian House and Home TV, and HGTV’s This Small Space.
Steven's projects have been featured in a variety of Canadian magazines, including a monthly two-page article entitled “So Simple” in Style At Home magazine, and monthly "Easy Chic" projects for Canadian House & Home magazine.
