Lana Parrilla is an American actress best known for her role as Sarah Gavin on the fourth season of the television action series 24, in 2005.
She currently stars as Regina Mills (the Evil Queen) in the fantasy drama television series Once Upon a Time, since 2011.
Beginning at a young age, she was constantly making home videos with her family, signaling her desire even then to be an actress. After graduating from high school, Parrilla moved to Los Angeles to study acting and began honing her craft in local theatre productions.
One of Parrilla's earliest on-camera jobs was an appearance in the Steven Spielberg action pilot Semper Fi, before getting her first big break with a recurring role on the series Spin City.
Her subsequent television credits include regular roles in Boomtown, Windfall, Swingtown and Miami Medical, and recurring roles on Lost, 24 and Six Feet Under.
Parrilla was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and currently lives in Los Angeles. Her favourite films from the '70s are Saturday Night Fever and A Clockwork Orange.
