Bio
Chris Parnell is an American actor and comedian who was a Saturday Night Live cast member in 1998-2001 and 2002-2006. He had a recurring role as Dr. Leo Spaceman on 30 Rock and was a supporting cast member of the short-lived 2008 sitcom Miss Guided.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, he earned a degree in drama from the North Carolina School of the Arts and toured as an actor with regional theatres, including The Berkshire Theatre in Massachusetts and the Alley Theater in Texas.
He decided to move to Los Angeles to study comedy and became a member of The Groundlings comedy troupe in 1997. Soon, he was auditioning for Saturday Night Live and became a regular cast member in 1998.
He made his feature film debut in 1996 in Jingle All the Way and has since also appeared in The Ladies Man, Down with Love and Anchroman: The Ron Burgundy Story.
He has made numerous guest appearances on series such as Seinfeld, The Jamie Foxx Show, Suddenly Susan, Murphy Brown, TV Funhouse, Friends and Ed, among others.
In 2010 he had a starring role on the sitcom Big Lake.
