Blair Brown is an American actress best known for playing the title character in the comedy-drama television series The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd (1987-1991), and for her role as Nina Sharp in the science fiction series Fringe, from 2008-2013.
Brown is an award-winning film and TV actress and director who has had a number of high-profile roles, including a Tony Award-winning turn in Broadway's Copenhagen.
As the title character on the television series The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, she received five Emmy Award nominations.
Brown has been featured on Broadway in James Joyce's The Dead with Christopher Walken, Cabaret, The Secret Rapture, The Threepenny Opera and Arcadia.
Off-Broadway and regional theatre credits include The Clean House at Lincoln Center Theater, The Tempest at McCarter Theatre Center, A Little Night Music at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Humble Boy at the Manhattan Theatre Club, My Life as a Fairy Tale directed by Chen Shi-Zheng and A Comedy of Errors at the New York Shakespeare Festival.
In addition, she has spent seasons at the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival and Minneapolis' Guthrie Theatre.
Her film career includes roles in Dark Matter, The Sentinel, Dogville, Space Cowboys, The Astronaut's Wife, Altered States, Continental Divide, Strapless, Stealing Home and A Flash of Green.
She directed theatre productions of Rosemary and I, Lovely Day and A Feminine Ending. In addition, Brown has narrated more than 50 documentary films and audio books.
A native of Washington, D.C., Brown currently resides in New York City.
