Travis Stork is an American ER doctor and television personality best known as The Bachelor in the eighth season of the reality competition series of the same name, and for hosting the medical talk show The Doctors, since 2008.
Dr. Stork is an emergency room physician, who practices at a trauma centre in his native Colorado when he is not in front of the cameras for The Doctors.
His credentials include graduating Magna Cum Laude from Duke University and earning his M.D. with Honors from the University of Virginia. He completed his three-year residency as an emergency room doctor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Stork has been a regular guest expert on Dr. Phil since March 2007. He has also appeared on the syndicated talk show, Rachael Ray.
Drawing on his personal and professional experiences, he wrote his first book, Don’t Be That Girl: A Guide to Finding the Confident, Rational Girl Within, which was published in January 2008 by Simon & Schuster.
In the book, Dr. Stork reveals why women must first believe in themselves if they hope to find the type of relationship that will bring them the fulfilment and happiness they deserve.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Stork is a devotee of mountain and road biking, kayaking and hiking in the Rocky Mountains with his dog Nala.
He has participated in numerous fund-raisers for organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and, in 1998, he bicycled solo cross-country for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
