Come Dine With Me South Africa is a South African cooking reality competition television series based on the British series Come Dine With Me and produced by Rapid Blue which follows four people who have never previously met as they snoop around each other's homes, sample each other's cooking and pass judgment on each other's entertaining skills.
Shot on location in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, Come Dine With Me follows five total strangers competing for the title of the ultimate dinner party host.
Each night for a week they will take it in turn to cook up their idea of the perfect evening. As well as cooking, the rival hosts snoop around each others' houses and go to bizarre lengths to win the competition.
At the end of the evening, the host is judged by their guests and scored out of ten. The contestant with the most points at the end of the week wins a cash prize and vouchers worth R10,000.
Come Dine With Me unites an exciting cross section of contestants from all social and cultural backgrounds not to mention ages and genders, through their love of food and entertaining.
A compelling mix of food, conflict and competitive hosts makes for unforgettable and often jaw-dropping dinner parties. Throughout, Come Dine With Me's narrator never fails to make the most of the participants' fumbles and foibles.
Of course, with personality clashes at almost every dinner party, it's often not just the champagne corks that go with a bang as insults are traded, homes are snooped around, and the flowing wine loosens the diners' tongues...
Come Dine With Me South Africa is executive produced by Kee-Leen Irvine and Duncan Irvine. The series is an ITV Studios format licensed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment and produced by Rapid Blue for BBC Entertainment / BBC Brit.
