Synopsis
Tune in to see how viewers get an opportunity to revamp their houses on Jack Up Your Shack. It's a home make over show with a twist.
Presented by Desmond Dube, each episode features two families competing against each other to see who can make the most impressive renovations to their houses within the allocated time.
At the end of the third day the two houses are judged by a panel of experts and the winner is announced. Each winning family from episodes 1-11 stands an equal chance of walking away with the grand prize of R200,000 worth of building materials.
The winning family is the family that receives the most viewer votes and the winner is announced in Episode 13.
Produced by Let It Rain Films, families across South Africa, including Hamanskraal, Shoshanguve, Witbank, Motherwell in Port Elizabeth and Franschoek, as well as Windhoek in Namibia, participated in the show.
Each episode takes on the following format: both families select their building material from a Build It store and start their renovations. Once they have completed their own renovations, their homes are judged by industry experts Timothy Vellem and Thulisile Mahlangu and the winning family for that episode is then announced.
