She Stole My Foetus, produced by October Films, is a disturbing documentary film.
There have been seven cases to date of foetal theft – the murder of a pregnant woman to cut out their unborn child. And a disturbing pattern is forming.
The killers are women with no history of violence or abuse. The murders are always pre-meditated - the women often maintain a fictional pregnancy for eight months as they target their victim and plan their crime.
There have been very few cases of this bizarre practice, but the ones featured in this documentary include a particularly bloody attack and murder near Chicago and another example in Alabama.
And there's the first-person account of Sol Angela Cartagena, who, when heavily pregnant, was drugged by another woman and abducted, along with her toddler child.
She recalls how she was woken from the drugs by her daughter. "As I was waking up, she said, 'Mum, she's going. She's going with the baby.' I looked down and my stomach was empty and bleeding.
"Then my daughter said, 'Mum, the lady left running with the baby'."
She Stole My Foetus looks at three cases to find an explanation for why these women commit these crimes.
