Reba was an American sitcom created by Allison M. Gibson in which country superstar Reba McEntire made her first foray into series television in a comedy that takes aim at the all-American family with a spirited look at suburban dysfunction.
It premiered on The WB Television Network (The WB) network in 2001, where it ran for five seasons before moving to The CW Television Network for its final season.
Reba aired in South Africa on M-Net.
Synopsis
The series began with the Hart family in the midst of a divorce as Texas soccer mom Reba watched her white-picket-fenced world collapse before her very eyes.
Her dentist husband, Brock, left her after what she thought were 20 happy years of marriage for his impossibly perky and unfortunately pregnant dental hygienist, Barbra Jean.
Reba's strength was tested yet again with the pregnancy of her then-17-year-old daughter Cheyenne and her decision to marry her boyfriend, high school football star, Van.
All this upheaval made for a rocky transition period for second daughter Kyra, who moved in with Brock and Barbra Jean.
Through all the changes and challenges - not to mention the family members moving back and forth between households - this blended family continued to muddle through with humour, love and optimism, as they have always done.
