About the Show

Give Me That Bill Mzansi is a South African television game show based on the international format and produced by Endemol South Africa in which contestants are put through a series of wacky challenges in order to win the prize of having an unusual bill of theirs paid in full.

It is the only game show that puts the fun in financial crisis, turning financial setbacks into hilarious strokes of luck.

Need an unexpected bill paid ASAP? Prepared to do some crazy stuff to be rid of the debt that resulted from an ill-advised night out with the boys? Give Me That Bill Mzansi is a game show – with a twist.

Each week the show's hosts, Kenneth Nkosi and Tats Nkonzo, select contestants and get them to play some crazy games. The prize? You could win money to pay towards your unpaid bill – or, for the final winner, a large portion of the total amount owing will be taken care of.

Potential participants in Give Me that Bill Mzansi are required to bring along bills that are linked to a wild, funny, bizarre, touching or even embarrassing story. The more unusual the story, the more likely they will be chosen to participate.

In this world of no ordinary bills, this could be an incredibly expensive telephone bill, the laundry bill for the red wine you tipped all over your mother-in-law's designer frock, the gym classes you promised your spouse you would definitely cancel, expensive extras for that wedding party that broke the budget, the fake ticket you bought for a live concert or even the water damage that resulted when your neighbour asked you to help rescue his donkey from a ditch and you forgot to switch off your bath (don't laugh – it has happened!).

However, their account is only the start in getting their bill paid. The selected audience member must also play a game on stage that requires some physical skills or a bit of general knowledge. The winners of each game move onto the semi-final round where they are weeded down to one contestant.

The finalist is presented with the ultimate money-game: whatever he scores is multiplied with the amount on his bill, possibly earning him a little extra cash to take home.

The following dancers have appeared on the show: Andrea Haddon, Belinda Nagel, Kego Motshabi, Lerato Moukangwe and Lerato Tilsley. The choreographer was Leanne van Breda.

The show theme music is by Jazzworx.

The series is produced by Darren Lindsay for Endemol South Africa. The executive producers are Anton Burggraaf and Sivan Pillay and the series director is Faeeq Dyer.

The format "Give Me That Bill" was created by Endemol Nederland B.V.
