George of the Jungle is a Canadian remake of the original 1967 animated series of the same name. It is produced by Jay Ward and Bill Scott, using Adobe Flash animation.
The series premiered in Canada on Teletoon Canada on 29 June, 2007.
George of the Jungle premiered in South Africa on DStv's Cartoon Network on Monday 3 March 2008, at 19h05. It airs Mondays to Fridays at the same time.
Synopsis
This animated show chronicles the adventures of George and his modern jungle family: Ursula his best friend whose aim is to protect the environment, an ape named Ape, Shep the elephant who thinks that he is a dog and Tookie Tookie the birdie pal.
Possessing incredible strength, bravery and a penchant for repeatedly crashing into trees while vine-swinging, George acts as the protector of all the jungle's inhabitants.
