Chef Jack Bourdain was highly successful within the restuarant business, which saw him travelling the globe extensively and living the high life. All the fame and fortune saw him dabbling in the fast paced lifestyle of drugs in excess.
All the excess took its toll on him and he eventually ended up on the streets. He eventually decided to clean up his act after hitting the bottom of the barrel. The only job he was able to get at the time was at a cheap and tacky restuarant.
Jack is then given the opportunity to become head chef at a top New York restuarant. He then gathers a group of colleagues from his past, including chefs Steven and Seth, a newbie pastry chef named Jim, as well as a hostess Tanya and Mimi, the restaurant owner's daughter.
The one problem is that he is given 48 hours to fill up the kitchen with staff and prepare meals for over 300 customers, including a food critic for the New York Times.
Kitchen Confidential exposes the secrets of the restaurant business through the compelling story of a talented chef who’s determined to climb back to the top.
