The year is 2258. Ten years ago the alien Minbari came close to destroying Earth before inexplicably surrendering. Now a state of peace exists across the galaxy, and the space station Babylon 5 is a place where representatives from alien governments can interact.
On board Babylon 5 are representatives from the five major alien races: Humans; their former adversaries the Minbari; the Centauri; the Centauri’s former subjects, the Narn; and the mysterious Vorlons, the oldest and most powerful race.
These representatives along with representatives from smaller alien governments serve on the Advisory Council, a body that is intended to resolve disputes diplomatically and without resorting to major conflict.
However, conflict is always a possibility as a result of the Narns who wish revenge on their former oppressors or the Minbari warrior caste who are unhappy at the surrender to Earth.
In addition there are several questions whose answers could have significant consequences: Why did the Minbari surrender, and what connection does Babylon 5’s commander, Jeffrey Sinclair, have with it?
What exactly happened to Babylon 5’s predecessor, Babylon 4? And just what are the Vorlon’s true motives?
