Lip Sync Battle is an American musical comedy reality competition television series based on an idea introduced to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon by John Krasinski, in which celebrities battle each other with lip sync performances of famous music videos.
Anne Hathaway's done it on a wrecking ball... Emily Blunt hilariously channelled Janis Joplin and Blackstreet (No Diggity!) in fur and shades.
Salt-N-Pepa had a go at spicing it up, while Mike Tyson went the distance against Terry Crews. What's more, John Legend showed his hidden affinity for MC Hammer while Common got in touch with his inner Lionel Richie...
Even TV host and SNL alumnus Jimmy Fallon and Dwayne Johnson have got in on the act! It's Lip Sync Battle and now it's coming to MTV in Africa.
Hosted by two-time Grammy Award winning hip hop icon, and actor LL Cool J, Lip Sync Battle is based on the contemporary craze of lip sync battling to an original track. The show is co-hosted by social media maven and supermodel Chrissy Teigen.
The series features celebrities going head to head – lip-syncing to the song of their choice, all while battling for the bragging rights.
Lip Sync Battle is executive produced by Eight Million Plus Productions, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant, Casey Patterson, Jay Peterson of Matador and Rick Schwartz of Eight Million Plus.
Beth McCarthy-Miller (Saturday Night Live, 30-Rock, The Sound of Music Live, Modern Family) will serve as Director. LL Cool J also serves as a producer on the show.
Lip Sync Battle is taped in New York City.
