iThemba is a South African television drama series which follows Philiswa, a young woman whose life comes to a halt when her sister, Nomonde, who has been the sole caretaker of their family, stops paying Philiswa's varsity fees and disappears.
Philiswa's search leads her to a church where she discovers that Nomonde is in trouble.
Philiswa realises that this place is a cult that takes advantage of desperate people and in her search to find and free Nomonde, she uncovers family secrets that threaten to destroy her and Nomonde.
iThemba is a 1Magic Production produced by Pixel Perfect Productions as an M-Net Original. The series is created and executive produced by Khayakazi Ngqula and Nompumelelo Ngqula, with Mpho Modise also credited as a creator. The series producer is Frank Perold.
The head writer is Duduzile Zamantungwa Mabaso, who is also the scriptwriter and a storyliner with Nompumelelo Ngqula and Christa Biyela.
Directors include Jerome Pikwane and Khayakazi Ngqula. Music is composed by The Good Group.
