Vetkoek Paleis is a South African television sitcom set in the small town of Nigel, where Frik Delport starts his own take-away business after being fired due to staff layoffs.
Over time, he realises that it is not always so easy to have your own business enterprise, as we follows the trials and tribulations of starting a business from scratch.
Frikkadel Delport is the owner of Vetkoek Paleis, which he opened after losing his job.
Before he can find him, he hires two unplanned members of staff, Worsie and Boeboe, who change his own ideas about his business.
Frikkadel experiences the everyday challenges of being Boss, from giving away 22 fat cakes for free because the "health inspector" comes to visit, to the opposition wanting to steal his fat cake recipe.
When business is quiet, Frikkadel consults a consultant who is far too expensive and Boeboe comes to the rescue with a cunning but clever plan.
Worsie does his part, and arranges advertisements through a radio station where a friend of his works.
Zack du Plessis stars as Frikkadel Delport and Willie Esterhuizen stars as Worsie Visagie.
The series also features Alvin Bruinders as security guard Sheridan; Hélène Truter as Poppie Delport; Marga van Rooy as Ella Visagie; and Liane Heyl as Boeboe Botha.
Vetkoek Paleis was created and written by Willie Esterhuizen and directed by Pieter Esterhuizen, with music by Toby Esterhuizen.
