John Edward: Psychic (known in the USA as John Edward Cross Country) is an American talk show in which self-professed psychic John Edward travels across the USA, giving readings to large audiences in public venues.
The series originally premiered in the USA on WE in March 2006. Episodes are an hour in length.
John Edward: Psychic premiered in South Africa on DStv's Zone Reality channel on Tuesday 10 June 2008, at 20h00. Episodes aired every night at the same time, from Monday-Friday. There are 15 episodes in the first season.
Season 2 premiered on Tuesday 1 July 2008, at 20h00. New episodes air daily, from Mondays to Fridays. There are 12 episodes in the second season.
Synopsis
Self-professed psychic medium John Edward travels across the US helping families reconnect with loved ones who have passed on, in this follow-up to his breakout show Crossing Over with John Edward.
In the new series John claims to offer a deeper connection and encourages life’s inner journey by exploring feelings of life, loss, and ultimately, acceptance and closure.
The cameras show John reading large audiences with his alleged psychic abilities in hometown venues across the US.
In this forum, the audience is not supposed to supply Edward with any prior information about themselves, their family or who they are trying to connect with "on the other side."
The show opens with a statement that John simply "lets my guides draw me to the people that spirits are trying to connect with, and the audience should only validate the information I give them".
After each show John travels too meet up with the families to see the after-affects of his readings.
During the first season of Cross Country, Edward travels across the USA, giving readings to large audiences in public venues. In the second season, the show is broadcast from a set similar to that used for Crossing Over.
