Dube on 2 is a South African satirical sketch comedy television series devised by comedian Desmond Dube, in which he and a number of comic actors perform a wide variety of satirical sketches, interspersed with musical numbers by guest artists.
The series is a spin-off of the successful Dube on Monday series, which aired on SABC2.
Dube on 2 aired on SABC2 from 2004-2006. There are 26 half-hour episodes in two seasons.
Synopsis
This kasi-style comedy sketch show features homegrown characters and satirical inserts.
There’s Chucklass, a pantsula of note who hangs around street corners telling jokes, there’s a Dube-ified news broadcast in Sesotho and Isizulu as well as news and views about South African celebs.
There’s also an insert called Next Best Thing featuring undiscovered South African talents that profiles dancers, singers, magicians and community theatre groups.
Musical inserts feature throughout and include performances by Wanda Baloyi, Tuks Senganga, Ntsiki Mazwai and 3 Sum.
