Episode 1: Denial
A new season brings new challenges for Nox, Noma, Danny and Amira. Nox hopes that if she ignores her diagnosis it will simply disappear, while Noma is confused by her burgeoning feelings for Humphrey.
Danny, on the other hand has thrown her into a blissful relationship with Gabriel, while Amira makes a difficult choice to safeguard her relationship with Tshepiso.
Episode 2: Secrets
Noma is forced to call Humphrey when a pipe bursts in her kitchen. They finally make love and become quite smitten with each other.
Nox becomes more and more protective of the children. She prepares a poolside afternoon for her and the girls and ends up so intoxicated that she falls into the pool. She finally goes for a second test at the clinic, which turns out positive.
Gabriel becomes aware of Danny's adventurous sexual past and begins to feel insecure.
Amira reveals her new job as a cosmetics rep to her friends. But she really does not enjoy it and Noma does not appreciate her pitching to clients at her salon.
Episode 3: Anger
Amira is starting to regret having given up her dreams of singing to become a sales rep. And to make matters worse, Tshepiso seems to be very relaxed and totally self absorbed.
Danny is starting to get the feeling that Gabriel is pulling away from her but she doesn't know why. Noma tries to control her growing feelings for Humphrey, the last thing she wants is to fall in love.
Nox's anger at Brian keeps being misdirected as she lashes out at everyone in her life except him. But she still doesn't have the courage to confront Brian about her HIV status.
Brian, sensing that Nox is unhappy, suggests that she take a weekend trip away to her holiday house with her girlfriends. When Nox invites the girls, they are all more than happy to run away from their problems for a weekend. But their problems follow them to the holiday house.
Episode 4: Trust
Following her disclosure to her friends that she is HIV-positive, Nox feels betrayed when Noma and Amira can't deal with her status and their behaviour towards her changes. Only Danny gives her the understanding and support she needs. Danny also encourages her to join an HIV support group to get the kind of advice and guidance she needs.
At the support group Nox meets Lungile who forces her to confront the fact that she was probably not infected by her condomed one night stand with Chris and Nox realizes that she now needs to confront Brian.
Meanwhile Noma and Humphrey's relationship gathers speed, but Buhle's disapproval and snobbish attitude towards Humphrey, the handyman doesn't help.
Amira returns from a long day at work to find that there's no electricity because Tshepiso hasn't paid the bill for six months while Danny grapples with whether to reveal to Gabriel the exact number of her past lovers.
Episode 5: True Confessions
Amira has reached the end of her rope with the lack of electricity at her and Tshepiso's house, and goes to Dumisani to borrow money.
Noma's son Buhle is trying to seduce two girls at the same time and when Humphrey tries to advise Buhle on how real men are supposed to treat women, Buhle lashes out at Humphrey, making it clear that he is not interested in having a relationship with his mother's boyfriend of the moment.
Danny struggles to tell Gabriel the truth about how many men she's slept with. When she finally does confess the number, Gabriel's bad reaction makes Danny question if their relationship will survive.
Nox and Brian are struggling to come to terms with Nox's new HIV status. When Nox tries to urge Brian to test himself, he turns on her, saying he is perfectly healthy and accusing her of bringing the disease into the family. In the heat of a fight, Nox confesses to Brian that she slept with her pilates instructor.
Episode 6: Bargaining
Nox is bargaining with God. In return for her life to go back to the way it used to be, she promises to do whatever He wants.
She gets an opportunity to fulfill her part of the bargain when Lungile takes her to visit some child-headed households in Alex. Nox decides that she wants to start a foundation to help these children, and she decides to host a charity auction to help raise awareness and money for her cause.
Meanwhile Noma and Humphrey spend their first night together. In the cold light of day however, Noma's doubts about Humphrey's suitability surfaces, and she starts to put up walls designed to keep him emotionally at bay.
Amira and Tshepiso's relationship starts to unravel following her discovery that he hid the fact that he didn't get the Goethe scholarship. Fed up at having to work two jobs, Amira tells Tshepiso he has to get a job and contribute financially. Tshepiso goes nuts and retaliates at the Sunday Poetry Session..
Following Danny's confession to the amount of men she had slept with, Gabriel starts to keep her at arms length, and this fuels Danny's insecurities, especially when he goes to Mauritius to do a swimwear shoot with a group of models.
Episode 7: Faith And Hope
Relationships start to shift, as the 4Play women undergo significant changes in their lives.
Nox finds fulfillment in philanthropy - and a new friendship threatens her already-strained marriage. Danny welcomes her father to Johannesburg - but his arrival puts pressure on her relationship with Gabriel.
Meanwhile Amira's music career takes an unexpected turn, and Noma tries to balance her life with Humphrey with her role as a mother.
Episode 8: Charity
Amira stars in a music video with DJ Zoomz and Tshepiso becomes increasingly jealous. He convinces her that she is too irresponsible to manage her career and eventually offers to become her manager.
Danny tries to get Gabriel to communicate with her but he stonewalls and she knows the end is in sight.
Noma realizes how close Humphrey and Buhle are getting and isn't sure she likes it. She starts to assert her independence from Humphrey. She over mothers Nox and causes a temporary glitch in their friendship.
Nox organizes the charity auction with much support from Brian. Until she publicly reveals her HIV status.
Episode 9: Power
Days are dark for the women of 4Play, and each has to balance a need for power with a need for help.
Danny struggles with illness, while Nox is wrong-footed by the death of a friend. Noma and Amira struggle with their relationships, Amira with Tshepiso's need for control, and Noma with her sudden emotional dependence on Humphrey.
Episode 10: Acceptance
After Brian tests positive, Nox finally has hope that they can get through this as a family. This gives her renewed strength, and a determination to live a different kind of life. On a professional level, she is fired up with her future plans and projects for her foundation.
Danny, meanwhile, has finally accepted that she is sick and that she needs to do something about it. She makes an appointment with her doctor and discovers that she has contracted TB. The doctor also suggests that she get tested for HIV.
Noma, on the other hand, has to accept that her relationship with Humphrey is over. She does her best to try and hide the pain and loss she feels since having dumped Humphrey, from her friends.
Amira has reached breaking point in her relationship with Tshepiso. When Noma asks her straight out whether she is still in love with Tshepiso, Amira admits that she hasn't been for a long time.
Episode 11: Survival
Amira enjoys her growing fame. Tshepiso micro manages her further and changes her Facebook status to announce their engagement without asking her.
Noma realizes that Humphrey and Buhle are still in touch and begins to regret her decision to break up with him. Eventually she goes to find him and they reconcile.
Danny is totally depressed and alone, until her mother comes around and makes amends. She finally gets the courage to face Gabriel and breaks up with him.
Episode 12: Lay Your Burden Down
In the final episode of the season, the women rediscover their bond, and turn to face some difficult truths - together.
In the midst of taking responsibility for the choices they've made, they throw a spectacular Hair and Beauty Extravaganza - which is threatened by the arrival of an angry Tshepiso.
