Quiz Me is a South African television game show hosted by CC Ravele which focuses on creating awareness amongst youth and young adults about the importance of participating in democratic processes in South Africa.
The series premiered on SABC1 on Monday 2 March 2009, at 18h30. There are 13 half-hour episodes in the series.
Synopsis
Some of them are the children of the Struggle generations and yet are often accused of being apolitical, complacent and not caring about anything but themselves. The political landscape has changed and so have values, aspirations and lifestyles.
However, with the general elections around the corner, South Africa's youth are encouraged to engage in the game of their lives.
Quiz Me is a studio-based game show that challenges the youth and puts them in the seat of power, squarely in the election universe.
The show will test their understanding of the impact of this democratic process that many people sacrificed their lives for; yet also unpack the election process, in an attempt to make it exciting.
The show highlights the importance of preparation and participation in the upcoming National Elections of 2009. It aims to simplify the basic concepts of politics, democratic principles and responsibilities of living in democratic South Africa.
The game places two teams of three friends each in a head-to-head battle, as they attempt to outwit, outplay and outvote the opposing team.
The show is hosted by former YOTV presenter Hulisani “CC” Ravele.
