Season 1
No Sweat Golden Goal is a South African marketing-driven game show designed to raise awareness of its sponsor brands, in which each week teams compete in a "golden goal"-style soccer competition to win a grand prize of R400,000.
The series premiered on e.tv on Wednesday 17 June 2009, at 21h30. There are 13 hour-long episodes in the first season.
Synopsis
The challenge is about teamwork, skill, confidence and most importantly, fun. While teams enjoy a game of soccer, they also stand a chance to win R400,000.
It’s two teams in the dome, with four on the bench. As soon as a goal is scored, the clock stops and the losers are replaced with a new team. Teams keep rotating for 60 minutes.
The team at the top of the leader board at the end of the 60 minutes game time is the real owner of the dome.
The teams get one point for a goal scored in the 1st quarter, two points in the 2nd quarter and four points in the 4th quarter.
The game starts off with regional play-offs, followed by regional finals. The regional winners will battle it out in the national finals for the grand prize - R400,000.
