Season 1
Nurse Jackie is an American dark comedy series created by Evan Dunsky, Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem and starring Edie Falco as title character Jackie Peyton, a "flawed" emergency room nurse at All Saints' Hospital in New York City, for whom every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions.
Jackie Peyton is far from ordinary. As an ER nurse, she navigates the rough waters of a crumbling healthcare system, doing everything she can to provide her patients with the best care possible.
Whether she's lighting into a smug doctor for failing to heed her advice, or forging the organ donor card of a man who just died, Nurse Jackie is compelled to make sense of the chaos and to level the playing field whenever she can.
Right or wrong, it's Jackie's brand of justice made all the more manageable by a daily diet of prescription pain medication.
Nurse Jackie is tops in her field and in her ability to behave badly and hide the truth, with both heartbreaking and hilarious results.
For the first four seasons, Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem wrote and executive produced the series along with Richie Jackson and Caryn Mandabach, who also served as executive producers.
From Season 5-7, Clyde Phillips served as showrunner and executive producer. Caryn Mandabach, Richie Jackson and Tom Straw also served as executive producers.
