Season 1

Sullivan & Son is an American television sitcom created by Steve Byrne and Rob Long which follows Steve Sullivan, who surprises his parents when he leaves his job as a corporate lawyer in New York City to take over and manage a popular bar owned by his father in Pittsburgh.

The series premiered in the USA on TBS on 19 July, 2012.

Sullivan & Son premiered in South Africa on DStv's M-Net Series channel on Saturday 27 October 2012, at 18h00. It later aired on DStv's Vuzu channel. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 1 originally aired on M-Net Series from 27 October to 29 December, 2012, on Saturdays at 18h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.

Season 1 premiered on Vuzu on Monday 26 August 2013, at 22h30. New episodes broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at the same time. There are 10 episodes in the first season.

Synopsis

In Sullivan & Son, Steve Byrne plays Steve Sullivan, a successful corporate attorney from New York who brings his girlfriend home for his father's 60th birthday and learns that his Irish-American father, Jack Sullivan (Dan Lauria), and Korean mother, Ok Cha (Jodi Long), are preparing to sell the multi-generational family business, a bar known as Sullivan & Son.

It doesn't take Steve long to realise that where he really belongs is in the old neighbourhood and running Sullivan & Son. And so begins Steve's quest for a more meaningful and rewarding life behind the bar.

The series is executive-produced by Vince Vaughn (The Break-Up), Peter Billingsley (Iron Man) and show-runner Rob Long (Cheers).

The ensemble cast includes Dan Lauria, Christine Ebersole, Brian Doyle-Murray, Jodi Long, Valerie Azlynn, Vivian Bang and Owen Benjamin.

Created by Rob Long and Steve Byrne, Sullivan & Son is produced for TBS by Wild West Picture Show Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television.
