Cooking Gospel is a South African religious cooking lifestyle show hosted by Zandi Nhlapo and produced by Pepsi Pokane and Thokozani Nkosi in which each week she hosts a different celebrity who helps her prepare Sunday lunch while listening to gospel music videos.
Soulful Gospel music and Soulful Sunday cooking are almost inseparable, creating the sounds, smells and tastes that many of us hold dear - experiences that shape our memories and fill us with blissful nostalgia that we talk about with loved ones for many days to come.
Cooking Gospel brings all those elements into the present in a brand new way.
Every Sunday, Zandi Nhlapo plays us some of our best loved traditional Gospel tunes from the likes of Rebecca Malope, Sechaba, Sipho Makhabane and many more, all the while showing off her skills in the kitchen with the help of one of South Africa's best-known personalities.
Each week the show invites a celebrity into the kitchen where they prepare their favourite meal, which Zandi chats to the stars in between prepping their Sunday lunch and playing gospel videos.
She takes us through recipes that help us spice up our lives all over again, showing us how to add that much needed twist to dishes that we can add to our everyday repertoire.
