Inside Amy Schumer is an American sketch comedy television series created and hosted by comedian Amy Schumer in which - through a series of scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy and man-on-the-street interviews - Schumer explores topics revolving around sex, relationships, and the general clusterf*ck that is life.
The series premiered in the USA on Comedy Central on 30 April, 2013.
Inside Amy Schumer premiered in South Africa on DStv's Comedy Central channel on Monday 3 February 2014, at 21h20. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 10 episodes in the first season.
Synopsis
Come inside for an intimate look into the mind of comedian Amy Schumer in Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer in which - through a series of scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy and man-on-the-street interviews - Schumer explores topics revolving around sex, relationships, and the general clusterf*ck that is life.
Schumer riffs on everything from 'sexting' to roasting a dying 12-year-old to envisioning a female version of Hooters.
In the premiere episode, Schumer attends a casting session for the internet video 2 Girls, One Cup, lets her imagination run wild after a one night stand and endures a slightly less-than-terrifying plane flight.
Joining Amy for the first season of Inside Amy Schumer are a roster of well-known actors and comedians such as Jon Glaser, Michael Showalter, Amber Tamblyn, Michael Ian Black, Rob Schneider, Abby Elliott, Tig Notaro, Tom Papa, Lisa Lampanelli, Dave Attell, Will Janowitz, Nikki Glaser, Sara Schaefer and Missi Pyle.
Inside Amy Schumer was created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, who executive produce along with Jessi Klein. Klein also serves as Head Writer. Inside Amy Schumer was directed by Neal Brennan (Chappelle's Show), Steven Tsuchida (The Sarah Silverman Program), and John Lee (Delocated), with original music composed by Questlove. Seasoned comics Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan, Kurt Metzger, and Gabe Liedman make up the writing staff.
Inside Amy Schumer's production services are provided by Jax Media, a New York based film and television production company, helmed by veteran producer Tony Hernandez. Brooke Posch is the Executive in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
