Season 1

Win a Home is a South African lifestyle and reality competition television series which is a decor competition between four design apprentices, mentored by four leading experts, as well as the evolution of an apartment that's transformed from an empty shell into a multi-million rand home to be won by a viewer.

Presented by Cindy Nell-Roberts, Tumi Voster and Maps Maponyane, each episode offers a look at the country's best property investments.

Each of the presenters covers a different section of the show, the first being 'Inspiration'. This sees Cindy visiting an array of beautifully decorated rooms in homes around the country while getting décor and renovation tips from local décor experts, something that interests her personally.

The reality competition aspect is presented by radio personality and YOTV presenter search winner Tumi Voster. This follows the journey of four design apprentices who face the weekly challenge of furnishing and decorating an empty apartment within the luxurious Steyn City Lifestyle Estate, currently being built in the north of Johannesburg.

The designers are mentored by four of South Africa's top interior decorators: Amanda Elliot from Design Collective, Abilene Brodie from Head Interiors, Stephen Falcke from Stephen Falcke Interiors and Nthabi Taukobond from Ditau Interiors.

Viewers vote for their favourite designer each week and the stakes are high as the overall winning apprentice is awarded the opportunity to become one of Steyn City's resident designers.

The apartment section of the show is presented by Maps Maponyane. He follows the progress of Kim Hutton, Steyn City's resident designer, as he renovates a single apartment within the complex; transforming it from an empty shell to an opulent yet welcoming living space that one viewer stands a chance of calling their home.

While viewers can enter to win prizes throughout the show, their names go into a draw to win the ultimate prize – the newly decorated apartment.

Maps also chats to a featured 'designer of the week', something that suits him just fine he's passionate about architecture and innovation.

The first season was won by Josh Gloak.
