Season 1
Skunk Fu! is an Irish animated children's television series created by Aidan Harte and Hyun Ho Khang, featuring the adventures of personified animals battling evil using martial arts.
The series originally premiered in Australia on ABC Rollercoaster on 28 May 2007. It aired in the UK on the BBC and on The CW in the USA from 22 September 2007.
Skunk Fu! premiered in South Africa on DStv's Cartoon Network on Friday 8 February 2008, at 10h40. There are 52 half-hour episodes in the series.
Repeats are on Saturdays and Sundays at 10h40.
Synopsis
Dragon and his Ninja Monkeys will stop at nothing to destroy the Valley Animals.
But wise old Master Panda believes that the answer to their prayers rests in the tiny paws (and smelly butt) of his young student - Skunk!
Panda trains Skunk in the art of Kung Fu. Besides Dragon, Skunk's biggest enemy is his own impatience; he'd rather go on adventures than do boring old training.
Back Story
A long time ago (when Tigers used to smoke pipes) Heaven made Dragon into the Animal's guardian. Heaven gave Dragon power over Water to keep his natural Fire in balance.
Next, inscrutable Heaven sent a terrible drought to test Dragon's loyalty. Seeing the Animals suffering, Dragon asked Heaven if he could make it rain?
Heaven did not answer.
Panda warned Dragon that this was a test, and only he was in any danger. But Dragon was proud and said "I have no limits! I control the Sky! I will make it rain!"
Heaven punished Dragon by taking the power of flight and his beautiful colour from him. Dragon swore revenge. He chased the Animals from the mountaintop with fire.
But in his rage Dragon burnt the mysterious Lotus Flower which somehow connected Heaven and Earth.
Only then did he realise he had lost his power over Water. Burned by his own Fire, he retreated under the soothing cold Water of the mountain lake.
Dragon's only goal became the destruction of the animals, the world he once protected.
The Animals prayed for deliverance. Only a miracle could save their world. This is when the Stork dropped Skunk from the sky, into Panda’s arms, mistaking the child for a baby Panda.
Only Panda realised that Heaven had answered their prayers in the form of this strange and pungent animal. But how can Skunk ever defeat Dragon and re-establish balance in this world?

Main Characters
Skunk
Our hero is a young hyperactive kid who wants to be a Kung Fu master some day. Skunk wants to please Panda, but he also wants to have fun.
Panda
Panda is Skunk’s wise Kung Fu master. He is the leader of the good animals fighting against Dragon.
Dragon
Dragon is the ever-present dark force, bent on destroying Heaven’s creations: the Animals.
Baboon
Baboon is the General of Dragon’s army of Ninja Monkeys.
The Ninja Monkeys
The Ninja Monkeys are Dragon’s ninja army - frontline soldiers in the war against the animals.
