The Amazing Date is a South African live dating game show produced by Urban Brew Studios in which viewers stand to win a date with studio contestants using an interactive phone technology.
The series premiered on SABC1 on Saturday 10 May 2008, at 18h30. There are 13 hour-long episodes in the series.
Synopsis
The Amazing Date is a live-to-air; interactive dating game show where the viewing public become contestants playing on their phones via a new interactive technology called "In Live".
Every week two “Amazing Dates”, one male and one female, are playing in studio to be won, so to speak, and the show features interactive games for viewers to play.
Viewers dial into the show and play to win an Amazing Date with the studio contestant using their phones as remote controls by pressing the numbers on their keypads in response to the voice prompts.
Viewers answer certain questions on the contestant and earn themselves Amazing Points which not only puts them in line to win an Amazing Date with the studio contestant but also a chance to win a grand Viewers Amazing Date prize at the end of the series.
The show is hosted by comedian Trevor Noah and presenter Pabi Moloi.
