Synopsis
This series turns the spotlight on the Los Angeles Scientific Investigation Division (SID) where top-notch forensic scientists examine and interpret physical evidence from crime scenes in California’s City of Angels.
One of their most compelling cases involved a crime that quickly became personal – while investigating the shooting death of a top Hollywood make-up artist, a bomb at the prime suspect’s apartment exploded, killing the SID experts on the scene.
It was the first and only time in the Scientific Investigation Division’s 80-year history that their own investigators died in the line of duty.
Needless to say, the forensic scientists back at the lab used all their formidable skills and
expertise to solve this crime that took the lives of some of their own colleagues.
In another high-profile case, a Los Angeles SID expert helped solve the murder of a beautiful civil rights attorney after a made-for-TV movie about her was aired and the investigation heated up. A new twist on an old forensic technique helped identify the killer.
These are just two of the many gripping stories that L.A.'s SID can be proud of.
