Season 2
Ba Kae? is a youth entertainment series that focuses on the entertainers, artists and musicians who have played a crucial role in the liberation of this country and in shaping the entertainment industry.
As South Africa finds new cultural entertainment icons, there are various entertainers who shaped the entertainment industry in the past to make it what it is today.
This refers to famous musicians, actors and soccer players, and other, who appeared on our daily screens in those days.
This show celebrates and acknowledge the contribution they have made in the entertainment industry. Some of the icons included are Senyaka, Mbongeni Ngema, Joe Mafela and Yvonne Chaka Chaka, to name a few.
Ba Kae? 2 looks at the era where TV was still a novelty. It features different settings with pre-selected audiences and a guest celebrity icon.
The focus of the series is: Have we really changed or are we re-inventing the wheel?
The show profiles both past and present icons and provides them an opportunity to talk about their careers and what made them become icons.
Although the years before 1994 were challenging and difficult, there were some silver linings where people found time to laugh and play and really have a good time.
The series looks at what these icons meant to the older generation as well as the present generations. The show also focuses on their past and present experiences.
Ba Kae? 2 is a platform where entertainers are given space of their own to express and celebrate their achievements as they express their emotions.
The show is hosted by entertainer Tholi B, whose real name is Rofhiwa Bologo.
