Hosted by Kabelo "KB" Ngakane, the show premiered with a two-hour introduction to the series and the 12 new housemates who were trying to survive each other for 98 days in the house.
The first contestant to arrive in the house was Ghanaian contestant Kwaku and the twelfth contestant was Zimbabwean Bertha, who arrived by helicopter.
The 12 housemates come from the following African countries: Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The cash prize was $100,000.
Throughout the course of its run there was a 24-hour live feed from the show on Channel 37.
Big Brother Africa 2 aired on DStv's Channel 37 and AfricaMagic channels from 5 August to 11 November, 2007. The winner was Richard Bezuidenhout.
